01 / The homes we care for
An old port and its seaside neighbour
Harwich keeps one of the most intact old towns on the east coast: a tight grid of streets, with the High and Low Lighthouses, the Ha’penny Pier and the Electric Palace cinema close by, and houses that have watched ships come and go for centuries. Dovercourt, along the bay, grew as a Victorian resort, with wider roads of terraces and villas and the beach huts below the promenade.
Between them sit post-war estates and newer homes, so a single morning might take us from a narrow period hallway to a modern family lounge.
02 / Period interiors
Narrow stairs, older floors
Old-town houses often have steep, winding stairs and floors that are not quite level. Carpets here can be older and fitted around awkward corners. We take time at the edges and treads, where soil collects and wear shows first.
Stairs are priced on their own, so you can see exactly what a tall, narrow house costs before you book. Every fabric is tested before we start.
03 / Sea air and salt
Coastal wear, indoors
Salt air and fine sand from the bay find their way inside, settling in porches and halls. A thorough dry pre-vacuum comes first on every job, lifting grit before any water is used, so it is removed rather than pushed deeper.
Rugs are priced by size, and delicate or hand-made rugs are assessed from a photo before we suggest a method.
04 / Sofas and mattresses
The pieces you use every day
Away from the carpets, sofas and mattresses quietly gather the most wear in a home. Upholstery is priced per seat and tested before we clean; mattresses are priced by bed size, with a second side or urine and odour treatment added only if you need it.
We suggest morning appointments for mattresses, so they have the day to dry before bedtime.
